Oh man, reheating some Tamales(sp) and part of a husk fell on the floor. The Min Pin moved like a gazelle and ate it before I could react. Hopefully this isn’t too terrible for her?

I had my dogs chew the cobs…came out fine on the other end.

…ok - SOMEBODY in my household knocked over a candy dish and ate the whole lot of chocolates, wrapped in tinfoil and cellophane. Several days have gone by, nobody is sick, bloated, etc. but we have found no sign of tinfoil whre the ‘go’. Suspect is a bull terrier bitch with food obsession. Still waiting nervously.
Tinfoil will show up on an xray if you are seriously concerned. If your dog is not vomiting, eating well and acting normally its probably passing 
As for the corn husk - probably not an issue. If the dog ate the cob, PLEASE monitor VERY cosely for vomiting. I have known MANY dogs die after the cob became lodged somewhere between the pylorus and poop shute. 
If it was a corn cob, you need to watch for an impaction. Corn cobs cause a lot of impactions.
Im assuming it really is the husk, not the cob, since it was tamales. Your dog should be fine. Its just fiber.
My dog ate a corn cob last year. Caused an impaction, required surgery (to the tune of $4000) and then he died afterwards anyway.
MONITOR CLOSELY and be sure things are passing though. Although I would take to the vet just to be sure.
…update… everybody is still healthy, active and lively. Still don’t know
exactly who ate the tin foil/cellophane covered chocolates, or where the poop was hidden - but so far so good. Been four or five days now.

For you & everyone else who didn’t read the OP’s post correctly. She was making TAMALES, in which the masa harina & filling are wrapped in corn HUSKS before steaming. No corn cobs are involved, & the plain husks - without the corn or the cob - are readily available in many supermarkets these days.
Dog who ate Husk is doing quite well! I took her for a lengthy walk that night! She has been pooping a lot for an 8 lb dog. The husk was maybe the length of my index finger and not much wider. Vet seemed to think not to bring her in unless she had a problem. Also MSU is less than 10 minutes from the house.(she had been there before for a fluke seisure(sp)):yes:

Gosh, didn’t realize you’re so close! I work right across the street from MSU. So nice that you’re close to such great care. Lord knows I should have my name on a brick or something over there after this year!!!
