Can anyone recommend a hotel near KHP that allows dogs? It doesn’t need to be super fancy. Just clean and safe, and ideally not too expensive.
Also, any ideas about where to board a dog in that vicinity for a night or two?

The Four Points by Sheraton is only a few minutes away and is dog friendly, can’t help with the boarding though!

I usually stay here, it’s adequate for no more than I am in the room and they allow pets.
La Quinta on Newtown–inexpensive, great staff, and pet friendly.
Four Points by Sheraton or the Fairfield Inn. Both are clean and allow dogs, but if you’re intending on being there the second week of KY summer or Pony Finals, BOOK NOW. Seriously everywhere’s booked up.
I think the Clarion may be dog friendly. When I was there I saw a couple of dogs. They were “little” though, so I suppose it is possible that someone sneaked them in and had them there secretly. I would call and ask. When I stayed there it was not a bad drive to the horse park, and everything was nice and clean.
Check the Hampton Inn in Georgetown. They have a lot of KHP customers and I thought they allowed dogs. Check to be sure, though.
