Dog loves to climb big rocks

![](y 2.5 year old BC mix is obsessed with rock climbing. We live in New England, in a town formerly dominated by granite quarries, so there is no shortage of large outcrops in the woods.

Over the last year or so, BC mix just cannot get enough of rock climbing, she races to every one we pass, scrambles up (sometimes what looks like a sheer face, it’s scary!) and poses up there, very happy with herself.

Strange, as I’ve never had another dog so excited about climbing. She doesn’t like to fetch, doesn’t really like to herd/chase, she likes to climb. She likes to jump too, she jumps over and onto random things in the woods and likes to jump over the horse jumps when there are no horses in the indoor.

We don’t know what she’s mixed with, are there breeds that like to climb and be way up high?

our one farm had an outside stairwell for access to the basement, which also made getting on the roof farily easy. My one dog would stay up on the highest point of the roof for hours - got a lot of comments from neighbours driving by. He is GSD/border collie.
