Doggles?

My “senior” (9) Aussie/Kelpie has some skin pigmentation changes on his eye lids, and has always squinted in bright sunlight. I got some dog sunglasses (not actually Doggles brand) and while he is NOT a giant fan, I’m hopeful they will eventually be accepted.

If you’ve used them, how did you evaluate fit? We’re on day three and I find myself still making little adjustments to the fit. After today’s adjustment, the fit seemed to stay better for some frisbee tossing, so that’s a good sign. But I do almost wonder if he doesn’t need a larger size? The back of the head strap is adjusted out almost all the way, but the jaw strap is about halfway. And I worry that the outside edges are too close to the corner of his eyes.

I think I see what you mean… like if the glasses rode higher up on his stop/eyebrow ridge, you’d feel more comfortable that he was comfortable?

I don’t have any hands-on experience. Can you reach out to military or police K9 handlers or vets for advice? They may have experience using them.

Most dogs wont tolerate doggie sunglass products very well. They appear cute to take pictures in but that’s about it …

Check out the Optivizors instead - they come in clear, light tint, dark tint and tinted with removable UV mesh and they stay put, they protect the eyes and surrounding areas from UV rays and also from getting poked by anything as they rummage around and they allow the dogs to play, to eat, to drink and to function completely normally …

They make horse visors too, interesting.

He looks great in them! I got some tiny pink ones for my Chiwini because she has fairly protruding eyes, but, she wouldn’t keep them on for more than a second. I sent them back:mad:
