A big round of applause to everyone and all of the great things you’ve done. I would so buy a breeding to donate, but I already did that for another good cause. I hope everyone who’s thinking of breeding looks here first.

Has anyone seen or heard anything about Federalist lately?
I’ve been wondering this myself – I feel so sorry for the poor old guy.
I read here that there is a court date tomorrow, January 3. Is Jill supposed to show up, or is it just for the humane society?
Karen Severns has also been wronged by Jill, so also has a vested interest in seeing this ended.
I see two things going on here, and I don’t see a way to distinguish. I see the breedings being donated to Leg-Up, of which proceeds go to Marin County. Then I see offerings of stallions like Lotus T and Escapade to MARE OWNERS who have been wronged (had a breeding to GFF not honored).
Is anyone keeping track of them seperately? What are the SO’s who are donating to mare owner/victims requiring as proof?

Post #2500 on this thread is being passed along to everybody, forums, etc., and is being updated regularly. It is basically stud fees being donated free of charge to Mare Owners who currently hold a GFF Stallion Contract and have been unable to use it.
The online live auction is being done to raise funds for the Marin Humane Society. So, they are two very different campaigns.

I do believe that is why Grande Affair was moved in the first place to “hide” /eyeroll her from the people who were looking prior.
This doesn’t surprise me, as I seem to recall earlier this year, or I should say summer 2012, that when the foreclosure became real and this thread started people were going to get their mares and Grand Affair was one of the ones who was “supposed” to be shipped back east to her owners by agreement with Jill then she never followed through…
It appears Grand Affair has been sold as this was just posted on FB. This person was on here earlier in this thread defending Jill but at least the mare has a good home.
Kirsten Strain
For those of you familiar with the Oldenburg mare Grand Affair, she has been with me for the past 6 months mothering her 2012 filly Dolphina who I own. I had also purchased Grand Affairs 2010 inutero foal Rain Boots who has been with his new owner for the past year. I am pleased to report that I have purchased Grand Affair who will continue to live at my farm in Petaluma. This is an FYI to dispel any rumors of the whereabouts of this wonderful hunter mare.

Kirsten, This has been a public issue here for several years. You knew the OWNER of Grande Affair was heartsick about this mare. You sat back and hid the mare. You’ve had two of her babies in your barn…now you claim to own her?
Kirsten, you need to step up now.
Fantastic, thanks for the extra info!

lol If some people are just stepping in, I know this looks crazy. Between alliekat, Kathy St. Martin and myself, we do have this figured out. lol Both were started so quickly yesterday, and we’ve been flooded with offers every since, that it is taking a bit of time to catch up.
Post #2500 on this thread is being passed along to everybody, forums, etc., and is being updated regularly. It is basically stud fees being donated free of charge to Mare Owners who currently hold a Gray Fox Farm Stallion Contract and have been unable to use it, can’t use it, whatever. Rather than having to walk away from thousands and thousands of dollars in lost stud services, now those Mare Owners have some options of chosing stallions owned by reputable Stallion Owners willing to help out. So, Post #2500 on here is just directly to help Mare Owners out.

It might be worth having a separate thread going for these 2 particular campaigns.
Otherwise, they just might get lost in this rather hugely convoluted thread!!
We are donating a dose of Fielding frozen semen to the auction! Shipping/handling and dry shipper arrangements will be responsibility of winner - semen is stored at The Oaks Equine & Farm Services in Smithfield, VA. There is a very limited quantity of this frozen left and he is turning out to be an amazing Derby horse!
Thanks to all the organizers of this and to the wonderful stallion owners who are coming forward with such generous offers. This does bring a bit of silver lining to the situation. Praying for the horses and all involved.

Would this be in Superior Court? There is nothing showing on the docket for tomorrow. There are two showing for County of Marin, but it looks like one is a civil case and the other is a family law case.

And huge kudos to everyone who is stepping up to help these poor horses and all the people wronged by JB/GFF. I hope someone can compile enough evidence against her to put her in jail.
Many blessings also in this new year to the OP for starting this thread and for doing what she can to help the elderly parents who were treated like trash by their own daughter.
DownYonder: court date?

Anyway to make sure that whatever court shes going into is aware of her outstanding warrants in other areas ?
Or conversely make sure that the other states/courts are aware that she has a case that she will be making an appearance for in Ca on X date.

This is the part that is up in the air. Michelle was away for the long weekend, and had no access to her Humane Society email over the last 5 days. As you can imagine, she’s swamped today and I don’t want to bug her with any more questions. She did say she would answer them as soon as possible. I’m unfortunately not the one that can answer any of the questions, but Michelle did say this morning a court date has not been set yet. So it’s possible tomorrow is the deadline for Jill to comply with the requests of Marin Humane Society?!? Again, just speculation on my part. As soon as I hear anything, I will let everyone know.
I know Jill and her minions are reading this thread…so maybe they could just come on here and tell us! At the same time, I hope they all crawl back into the disgusting hole they came out of! I was on the phone with one of them last week and spent an excruciating hour listening to them defend Jill’s action and defend Grand Affair being in their care. Thankfully, I know when someone is blowing smoke up my ass. Unfortunately, it is an hour of my life I will never get back again!
Sadly, I’ve spent most of the weekend taking calls and emails from people who have been burned. Just when you think you have heard the worst of the stories, someone else contacts you with something more horrible that the last person. I’m not the one to contact though…though I realize sometimes people just need to vent to someone who will listen. Everyone has been passed along to Marin Humane Society.
To Jill’s minions who are allegedly helping her move and hide horses right now so they can’t be seized, and giving her money to help her provide her horses with feed and other necessities at this time…that’s really gracious of you, but it’s like giving a cocaine addict money. You are only helping to feed the addiction and prolong the misery of those poor animals. If you are helping her, YOU ARE an enabler! YOU ARE part of the problem! YOU ARE an accomplice! Why not be part of the solution instead of part of the problem? Why not let the Marin Humane Society take the rest of the animals so they can all land softly in homes where they will be properly cared for and not treated like a means to an end? It’s time for Jill Burnell and Gray Fox Farm to retire from the horse industry. At the end of the day, no one is EVER going to respect her again anyways. NOT EVER! Why not just bow out now while there are tons of people willing to step up to the plate?
Honestly, the whole thing is just bloody DISGUSTING!
Wow, this is truly amazing!!
Nobody has answered my question. Maybe nobody knows. BUT if donations help Marin County care for the horses and that a judge in his infinite (not) wisdom would allow JB to get all or some of her horses back, after payment of the expenses for care, vet, etc. Would she have to pay just the difference? Would the donations make it easier for her to pay back whatever? I sure hope not…
I have seen the name of the stallion on FB… by his previous owner. Many many jingles going out to all the horses and their previous owners… I hope many will try to get them back.
And I agree that the current “owner” of Grande Affair has to step up and not cover unethical practices… the ship is sinking, you better do the right thing!
They were also trying to get Grand Divinia back as well but that didn’t happen either.
Wasn’t Grande Divina was sold nearly 2 years ago to another breeder in the area? I saw on FB recently she is now owned by the people in MO who bought a bunch of mares from JB.
TWF, thank you for clarifying re: Grand Affair’s breeding history.
Once again, a HUGE thank you to everyone who is stepping up to help by donating money, breedings or other services to help. It takes a village, but you all rock.
Is this the place in MO? https://www.facebook.com/RisingPhoenixWarmbloods?ref=ts&fref=ts
Yes. From what I can tell, I think they are good people and will do right by the horses.
