Doing business with JILL BURNELL? BEWARE.
So now they’ve added this picture to the article of the horses looking not so neglected at the old property…

Ugh. Blankets, not too crowded. Not boney. Thin he’d change the pic back!?
Looks like a dead horse in the background to a non-horse person.

my guess is that the person acting as “reporter” is a shill.

While at Chad’s, one of our good friends personally trailered Romantic to ERC to be collected each time. She would send pictures of him hanging on the trailer or grazing in the yard waiting his turn at the clinic. She said he could not have been better before or during the process which she saw many times. I would imagine the statement that he is vicious is absolutely false unless something changed drastically… Lord knows what to believe but personally knowing Romantic, I can’t fathom this.
Yeah, I walked him around without a stud chain, would have thought he was a gelding. Even the owners young kids could be around him. Baffles me that someone would call him dangerous.

Quote from the GFF breeding contract:

A breeding certificate will be issued after your foals birth announcement.

I am curious how many people who bred to her stallions actually got a breeding certificate. We know from this thread and others that some folks did not. Of those who did not, how many went after her for breach of contract? Or did everyone just give up due to the cost and hassle of pursuing her legally?

Also from her contract:

Return with a copy of your mare’s papers so we can process your breeding certificate.

Also wondering if Jill has “lifted” info about outside mares from those breeding contracts and used it to assign “ID’s” to foals from who knows what kind of mares. Sounds like very few of the GFF foals are being DNA’d, so how do foal buyers know they are actually getting a "Redwine foal out of (insert name of reg. mare)?

And I am really curious about the “young stallion” comments. She has YOUNG STALLIONS in addition to the others? And are those “young stallions” being used as substitutes for the older stallions on occasion?

Again - no DNA being done on foals, so who is the wiser?

And for those wronged by JB/GFF and looking for an attorney -
there is one on the board of the Marin County Humane Society who practices animal law exclusively. He may be able to give you some assistance - if not directly, then he could probably point you to someone who can.

Is Jill Burnell the one with the filthy lab techniques for her semen collecting practice?
According to the OP, and the pictures she supplied…

According to Weems, on Dec. 26, two stallions got into a fight. Weems said a young stallion jumped out of his paddock and into another stallion’s pen. She stated that both animals were immediately attended to. While the stallion owners, veterinarians and the Burnells, who care for approximately 30 horses on the property, were deciding whether to take one of the stallions to a clinic for additional treatment, the Marin Humane Society responded to a complaint about the property, at which time they impounded one of the stallions and an older mare.

Gosh, I so hate it when all my peeps and I are standing in the driveway with the trailer all hooked up ready to go, injured critter in hand and that darn humane society shows up and insists on taking on the financial burden of treating my animals.

Sigh, what an amazing imagination her lawyer has.

Did the press release that was supposed to happen yesterday ever happen? I am not seeing it posted here.

I was thinking the same thing! Mighty nice of them to take it into their own hands for no reason.

She has been talking about additional stallions for a long time, but none ever materialized. I don’t think she has any others.

I don’t think anyone has had a foal that was not who she said, yet. Fortunately, she posts MANY pictures, so markings are clearly identifiable. Also, videos clearly show the mare, which can be traced back to her brood are page. So, that part is pretty easy to verify. DNA will prove that the sire is the one she claims it to be. Having seen offspring by three of the four in person, they are pretty distinct in type.

fwiw, the Stokebrand case was brought by a known hoarder and trouble maker… so that entire thing is suspect in most locals mind…
Wrong. The case was brought on by Gwen offering free horses on Cragislist. The family that took them called Animal Control the next morning - she dropped them off in the cover of dark, blanketed - after they called her in shock at the condition. She was off at a horse show and couldn’t be bothered. I saw first hand the condition of the surviving horse when she arrived at rescue and I have seen how well she recovered with some minimal dental work and groceries. Nothing suspect. Just the facts.

This attorney will have a conflict and won’t be able to represent anyone against Jill Burnell because of the involvement of MHS, but he might be able to refer you to someone.

I really hope the Marin County Humane Society is fully prepared deal with this lunatic. It is quite obvious that Jill has learned to dealwith the California Court system in a very successful (for her) manner. Everyone here KNOWS that the horses on Jill’s property NEED to be removed and rehomed with appropriate parties and she needs to be put out of business and banished from owning equines once and for all. I would like to know HOW JILL HAS AN ARREST WARRANT AND SHE HASNT BEEN ARRESTED YET;especially now that a court is involved!

I really hope that Marin County has read this entire thread and has made the necessary documentation of each person’s account of what they saw/dealt with. I hope that they have garnered one heck of a lawyer and bring to light not only Jill’s horrible care for these animals BUT ALSO her extremelyfraudulant business practices…not to mention she’s broke federal law by shipping non documented semen across the border.

Lastly I hope that EVERYONE involved with Jill who has been burned; has stood up and contacted Marin County and provided their story and information. Jill cannot be taken down unless everyone stands up and helps Marin County successfully do so. STAND UP AND STATE YOUR CASE!

I don’t think MHS can do more than proceed with the animal cuelty stuff, BUT if you all call and make them aware of your cases, and especially how Jill dodged you, and let them know of the warrants that she simply ignores, it will better prepare them for her tactics.

If the court date is made public and she is not arrested on site, I will be pissed off. It’s one thing to not pursue the person but it’s another when it’s printed in the paper where she will be and when. You already have police on site, give them something constructive to do. I want her to walk out of that court room horseless and in handcuffs for her warrants.

I heard they are supposed to be in court first thing this morning, but there is nothing scheduled on the docket. Does that make it a confidential court case? http://www.co.marin.ca.us/depts/MC/courtcal/onedayq_mc.cfm?month=1&day=8&year=13&sortby=Name

Anyone notice the new article where she states this COTH thread is treating her unfairly? Why? Because it’s filled with the truth about her LIES and scheming?

http://www.marinij.com/novato/ci_22327901/marin-authorities-seize-more-horses-from-chileno-valley

Weems, whose office is in Fairfax, said she also represents a Georgia woman who bought the stallion and was waiting for it to be shipped before it was injured and confiscated. According to Weems, the stallion was hurt not from abuse or neglect, but in a fight with another stallion.

And here starts the spin that they are not really her horses.

ohh GEeeez Cry me a freaking river! Poor thang

NOT

What are the pending warrants against her and where do they originate from?
