Wow.
Another poster who can’t fact check.
USEF reports that he is suspended for bad checks.
‘Banned’ would be way too strong a term because as soon as he pays up he’s going to be reinstated.

Didn’t he used to be at The Acres? If these accusations are true, yowza.

My only encounter with him was at a local charity horse show where he oh-so-condescendingly explained to my mom, who has probably been going to horse shows longer than he has, how a jumper class is run.

What a great name to have when working with horses…

Dear Social MediaViewer:

In the course of doing business, we encounter customers that, despite our best efforts, are unsatisfied. We strive to resolve any dispute respectfully and professionally. In this case, we did no less: first directly with the customer, then later with their attorney. The person(s) posting these videos is desperate and seeks only personal financial gain. While it is our policy to resolve customer complaints in private and not the social media, we are compelled in this case, due to the extent of this customer’s egregious actions, to briefly answer these untruthful and reckless allegations. To protect the privacy of the customer we will refer to her only as JA. Truthful information regarding our company may be obtained by contacting the Better Business Bureau at: www.santabarbara.bbb.org/business-reviews/Horse-Training/Equisport-International-Show-Jumping-in-Camarillo-CA-92002615. Equisport International has an A+ RATING.

In 2011, J.A. entered into a WRITTEN agreement to train and sell two of her horses. Shorty after the commencement of the agreement, she breeched the agreement and abandoned the horses. She failed to pay basic health services, and bounced checks to us and the horse show managers. She was caught after business hours attempting to remove the horses and remove tack that did not belong to her. We were forced to file a criminal complaint with the Moorpark Division of the Ventura County Sheriffs Department.

Later that year, we were contacted by her husband who claimed to have no knowledge of any wrongdoings. In the interest of settlement, we entered into a settlement agreement (December 2011) which they breeched. They hired an attorney who we regularly corresponded with, but we failed to reach any additional agreements. J.A. and her husband filed a FALSE police report in Whittier. They once again illegally entered our property and attempted to remove the horses. As before, we notified the Police department who immediately responded and removed the couple from the property. Subsequent to these events, we have been contacted by individuals claiming to be the rightful owner of the horses including the original breeder who sold one of the horses in question with a restriction that he should never be resold. We are working closely and carefully to resolve these concerns.

Over the years, Equisport has satisfactorily served countless customers worldwide. Unfortunately, good news travels slowly if at all, but unfounded and slanderous statements travel at light speed on the Internet. We at Equisport, are happy to provide a redacted copy of ALL of the correspondence and agreements for the JA case as well as references to any potential customer in need of our goods or services.

USEF administrative action

Dear Reader,

I was the rider/trainer for a partnership that concluded its business. Unfortunately, I was dragged into a legitimate disagreement regarding fees charged by the horse show manager to the partnership.

To protect my interest, I appealed to the USEF. Despite having a sound position both legally and according to the Federation’s own rules, they ruled against me and I am forced to pay the disputed bill.

Sincerely,

Don Slaughter

Unfortunately, my father is responsible for the name.

Hey Candi,

Max wanted me to bring my clients over to your place to try horses. They are looking for (2): a High Pro hunter and also a GP Prospect.

Let me know when is good for you.

All the best,

ds

Ok, here we go !
Let me get a glass of wine first.

Best if you do that ,pronto, don’t you think? Rather bad publicity to be suspended from USEF…

Your excuses and explanations don’t come off well.

“…a partnership that concluded it’s business”

“Despite having a sound position both legally and according to the Federation’s own rules, they ruled against me…”
It sounds to me as if your “sound legal position” and your adherence to USEF rules must have been true only in your own mind. You would not be suspended otherwise.

I don’t know you from Adam, but , If you are incapable of keeping your financial matters straight with USEF (which seems to be the case) there is no way I would have any business dealings with you.

You don’t seem to have paid up… Big Red FLag IMO.

“Executive Trainer”??? Really???

His post was apparently directed to the OP, “Candico”.

.

Oh Lawdy lawd. This one has potential to go boom.

Just a thought about your website Mr. Slaughter…

When you include a “References” section in your website,
a Better Business Bureau screen shot (that shows your business is not accredited with them ,but gives you a good rating because no one has reported you to them) is not terribly impressive.
Especially since that seems to be the only reference you include…

I just checked it out too. Ol’ Don is looking for a working student. Dusting off the resume.

:D:D:D:D You too could spend your time not showing horses at USEF sanctioned shows…
