Donida Farm is bringing back the “old- Days”……
Come join in the fun during our first time offered Event Derby’s.

MAY 3 -All phases on All-Weather footing (sand/nike) JULY 19 – Jumping divisions on turf
Indoor and outdoor warm-up available ~ 6 divisions offered. Lincoln log thru Preliminary ~ Additional dressage classes ~ Additional jumper classes
One of the NW Premier Show facilities! 80 acres, two indoors, three+ outdoor all weather sand/nike, race track,
Fresh Cross Country jump schooling open in 2014.

Just pulled up the Donida web site - they show a dressage schooling show on May 3 - which I suppose could be combined with an event derby. And calendar page says WA Emerald Classic on July 19, but maybe that is not happening this year…?

[Edited to add] - just found confirmation that Emerald Classic will not be held this year so I guess that date is open and the Donida web site calendar is not yet updated.

And I don’t see anything about Event Derbies on the Donida Facebook???

Gwen just posted it, you can email her or call if you want more info. I am sure she will be updating the website soon You can check out the farms Facebook too!

I am not sure what is going on with Emerald Classic, it’s on for July 17-20 as far as I know.

The facility has plenty of room, usually there are the two hunter rings and a jumper ring for Emerald. That leaves the entire XC course and infield of the track (where the hunters and jumpers used to go).

The emerald classic fb page posted 2/22 that it was cancelled for the year

As someone who has either shown or attended the Emerland Classic since it started, I am so sad it’s cancelled this year :no: Anyone have info on why?

OK, now I see where Gwen posted the info on the Donida FB page from her personal FB account - that must be why it didn’t come up on my feed as I usually see the Donida stuff come across.

DD’s horse has (mostly) been living a life of leisure for the last four years while she has been in college. Hoping to get him “going” this summer so maybe will meet some of you there.

So how do event derbies work?

So is there or is there not a derby at DF this year? I’m a little confuzzled. Never mind - that was the Emerald Classic that’s canceled. Hopefully I can adjust my calendar so I can go. I went to their jumper night a couple of weeks ago and that was a lot of fun.

Derbies are usually a dressage test and jumping using a combination of XC obstacles and stadium jump fences; so two phases instead of three.

I think a meet up would be great and not having EC certainly clears my schedule. Unless, of course, my barns go to Oregon then. We will see.
