Donkey Blanket and sheets

Hi everyone. I have a 35yr old and he needs a blanket this year. Where and what size do you get for a standard donkey. My search results have only yielded horse blankets and mini blankets. Also need to know where to get fly mask for him. Thanks everyone.

You can measure a donkey for blankets just like you would measure a horse. My 12h donkey wears regular pony-size blankets and sheets. She wears a 58"/60" and I purchased her current ones from www.sstack.com.

However, the latest Dover Saddlery sale catalog had a bunch of pony-sized sheets and blankets on sale in some higher quality brands… I may have been lying in the tub tonight with the sale catalog picking out a new wardrobe for the donkey.

She wears yearling-sized Farnam fly masks without ears, although they are close to being a little snug for her. Cashel makes a donkey line of fly masks with and without ears in a variety of sizes.

My mini-donk has a bright red pony blanket from Schnieders, this time of year its adorable (I must say). The drop is ok, could be a bit deeper but workable. I did have to have the surcingles lengthened which a friend of mine who repairs blankets did for me. Donk is not “thrifty”.

Just reread OP. Standard donkey is the question, my comments may not apply. My guy is only about 10 hands.

My mini donk/Jack is 30 inches and 32 years old…I bought him a mini horse blanket off e-Bay and it fits him fine!! He had a panic attack the first time I put it on…now has a hissy when I try to take it OFF!!!
