Don't know how much more I can take!

Gwen,

My heart goes out to you because I’ve been there too. Heck, I’m there now!! Now I know why everyone was saying that marriage is “hard”. Its the closest relationship and the toughest. It can also be the most rewarding. Keep talking to your husband and forget the crappy remark about your spending money on lessons. Just keep riding!! “Life is not a dress rehearsal” – you have to enjoy it now. The bad luck you are having will eventually subside and you will have wonderful times ahead.

Zimt, what are the hours of your counseling center? Great advice and list!

We go along in our little worlds and forget how easy it can be to communicate fairly. Thanks for the reminder.

Hi Gwen,

I don’t know you but I really feel for you. Wish I could offer some soothing and yes realistic advice, but it seems you’ve already gotten lots of that. These ladies are terrific! I have noticed that certain horsey websites which have classifieds for employment often have listings by people who have horses that need to be ridden but don’t have time to ride them. Maybe that type of thing could be the compromise you need. It would certainly take some of the financial pressure off you and your husband. I totally agree that riding costs are far less than psychiatrists’ fees, but I think it’s really hard for some husbands to accept that as reality. Even two lessons a month would be fine if you could hack someone’s horse for her/him a few times a week. Try checking out equinesite.com as well as equisearch.com and horsecity.com. There are others but I can’t remember them offhand. Go to the links sites on some of the horsey sites and explore a little bit. It’s worth a try. Good luck, chin up. Things will work out. Bake some really good cookies!

You guys are the best!!!

At lunch, I went limping over to Target and got myself a CLUB for the car…maybe we won’t get this one stolen now!!!
