I have sort of casually been looking at trading in my 2006 Featherlite four horse gooseneck since it’s a little tight for the hippo of a horse I now have. I stumbled across the Double D website and thought their trailers looked interesting (though I’m not entirely clear whether they’re aluminum or not?). Does anyone have any experience with these? Particularly new experience? I found an older thread but it seems that now Double D is offering trailers that aren’t just steel? Anyhow, any input would be much appreciated.
I may be mistaken…but I believe Hawk may make them for DD…I saw some while at Hawk factory in fall…think they were DD huge goose necks??
The great thing about a Double D trailer is that you can fit a much bigger pair of horses in one than you can those little A trailers!
I have a 2005 Double D Adventurer 2 horse straight load steel stock trailer. It’s a well built trailer and I really wouldn’t hesitate to buy a newer Double D.
I’ve had several remarks on how roomy it is. One of my friends was positive her very large draft cross wouldn’t fit… and she was surprised when her mare had ample room both width and height wise.
Years ago, I ordered replacement butt bars from them and found customer service to be very nice and easy to work with. I’d give them a call and see if they have what you are looking for.

Tehehe. I always appreciate a little humor at the end of the day.

I like to joke that my trailer matches my bra size.
A friend just got one that is very nice, a 2 H slant with small LQ (maybe a 4’ SW?)> it is extra wide/tall to accomodate her oversized dressage horses (17.2 and 17). She loves the swing out rear tack and her formerly claustrophic guy who hated her sundowner is happy in it.
My EquiBreeze was built by the fine folks at Double D… Steel frame with Aluminum skin (with the proper insulator between the metals). They sent me pictures during the build!
Very well built. They stand behind their construction.
Absolutely love our Double D trailer. I don’t understand why more trailers don’t find a way to steal that tack room on the door idea.
Our steel one is built to last. Easy to maintain and fits every horse we’ve tried so far.
If we ever upgrade or down grade it will be to another Double D, and we live on the West Coast. Not easy!

We hauled from Oklahoma to Washington state in January and it handled everything fantastically.
