Dress boots: wide calf and inexpensive

My mom is looking for some tall black boots for work. Problem is she wants them very tall and she’s 6’1". I think dress boots are the way to go. She wants to spend around $300, wants zippers, but her calf if very wide in the horse world. Where should I be looking? Brands? These will strictly be for fashion.

Check these out. Go to SmartPak & search on wide calf boots. There are a handful of choices. I ride in these & love them, but they are pretty brutal at first for walking.

Mountain Horse! Firenze is what i bought for my 17 1/4" calf.

They have an elastic stretch panel that give an inch + of room. I love them!

I got a pair of these and really liked them, though I needed a different size. My budget, however, groaned, so I sent them back…

Since we’re talking about boots for a wide calf. . . I have a problem finding boots to fit, but my problem isn;t just a wide calf. (In my younger days, I was in track and did long jump and I have big calves. . .) they’re about a 15 1/2", so for a boot to be comfortable and not cut off circulation, I need something close to a 16". But I also have a small foot - size 7 or 7 1/2 depending on the make/model. My current boots were semi-custom, with an elastic gusset that makes them easy to put on/take off. I really don’t want zippers. It seems sooner or later despite loving care, they break. But I’m not sure you can even find boots without zippers any more - at least not off the rack. . .
From what I can tell by the size chart, Mountain Horse may have something that will fit . . . anyone else out there with a small foot and big calf and what did you find that works for you?

I am a size 8, narrow ankles, larger calves and the firenze fit wonderful. They do have zippers, but seem to be a good quality for the price point. I am super happy with them. The elastic gusset runs the whole length of the boot, so expands where I need it, and stays together where I don’t. I absolutely love them. The only thing I don’t care for on these boots are the spur stops on either side of the heel.
