Dress code for jumper schooling show (horse and rider)

My horse is going to be in his first jumper show tomorrow. He’s been to a dressage show, but this is his first time jumping in a show. Luckily, it’s at home and it’s just a schooling show. He will be competing against some very experienced kids, so wish him luck.

So, in a jumper class, can he wear boots? Do I use a contour pad or a square white AP pad?

If I get my nerve up to ride in the eq on the flat, what should I wear that would not call attention in a bad way? I have tan breeches and various polos, white, yellow, blue, etc.

He can wear boots in both the eq and jumpers. A square pad and a half pad (optional) is most often seen in the jumpers. Fitted pad in eq.
Tan breeches and any color polo is generally fin, though you may want to call management because some shows do have most people wearing a coat. Tall boots and a conservative belt and helmet is always fine. His bridle should be brown and not black for the eq as should be your saddle, but I wouldn’t worry too much.

most shows want jacket for equitation but would ask others in your barn what people wear… or check the prize list… good luck and have fun!
