I’ve horse shopped in Europe and really appreciated the idea of an agent.
I have a trainer I work with, but the horse market is soo insane and I call about horses the day they are posted online and still get beat out.
Can you recommend any agents that source horses (ideally on the east coast)? Happy to pay a 10% commission. Budget is mid-fives. I’m a very average AA looking for a sound, rideable horse–which seems very impossible.
I can’t help with any East Coast recommendations, but from what you describe, you might have some luck directly with some West Coast breeders.
I’d recommend Kari McClain or Gwen Blake. Both are in WA state. I’ve purchased horses from each of them; talented horses with outstanding character in your price range.
I think Amanda Barr Olson handles a lot of sales for Kari, so that’s another possibility.
