One of the entertainment events will be a Reining Challenge–so far, Anky and Rodrigo Pessoa have signed up to challenge professional reiners.

This was on hoefslag.nl (and probably Anky’s website) but am sure more such news will be ‘leaked’ as we get closer to…next week!
Now I would go for that reason:) Who are the reiners? I hope the big guns from the NRHA.

The first year of WC Las Vegas (SJ only) there was a barrel race that paired top American barrel racers with WC competitors. They dressed everyone in white t shirts, jeans and straw cowboy hats. Except poor Ludger Beerbaum, that is; he was too tall for the jeans, so wore breeches and boots with the t shirt and cowboy hat. Interesting fashion statement. Mario Deslaurier (sp?) won. No surprise - his people apparently own huge cattle acreage and he’s been doing that stuff all his life. But it was a blast to watch!
I can’t imagine what reiners they will get as the NRBC Derby is taking place in TX at the same time as the World Cup.
There are, apparently, lots of good reiners in the world. I know there are a boatload right here in Texas, so getting a couple to oversee the WC dabblers shouldn’t be an issue.
Will this maybe be on a free computer feed, so we can watch it?
Does anyone know what time on Saturday this will take place? It’s not on the schedule at the World Cup website.
I don’t know the time, but the reiners are National Reining Horse Association professionals Rick Weaver (NRHA President, NRHA Professional, NRHA Futurity Open Division Champion and multiple NRHA World Champion) and Ann Fonck (NRHA Professional, NRHA Open World Champion and dressage competitor).
Well, I have it on good authority that one little dutch DQ we know very well has been practicing, so the reiners better bring their “A game.” :lol:
