Dressage Barns & Lessons/Leasing in Vermont

Hi all, my partner and I are likely moving to Vermont next year after spending several years down south. I have extensive hunter experience but recently have made the transition to dressage and feel as though it’s the discipline I want to stick with for the rest of my riding career. I’m currently leasing and taking lessons but want to make sure I can continue to commit to my riding and potentially be competitive even with moving to the Northeast. We’re ideally looking to move within an hour of Burlington, perhaps closer, and I am willing to drive up to 40 minutes to ride for the right fit. Any suggestions for trainers, barns, or connections to make would be greatly appreciated!

A few options:

Ruth Hogan-Poulson Dressage (Plainfield, VT and FL)

Fell-Vallee Dressage (Colchester, VT)

Constance Hill (Ferrisburgh, VT)

Chestnut Hill Farm (Shelburne, VT)

I’m not sure how many of those have lease horses or lesson horses – but all are good folks who can at least help direct you to possible matches. It’s a pretty interconnected community in this area.

Deb Dean-Smith at Huntington Farm in Strafford is an awesome trainer.

This is a haul from Burlington and environs. Like an hour and a half.

OP said ideally. If you split the difference somewhere on 89 it would be doable. Either way, Deb is awesome and does clinics off-farm.
