I’m hoping the appearance of the, Escolar out of a Jazz mare’s, hind fetlock appearing to be on the ground during the canter at liberty is a photographic anomaly and not what it appears.

I don’t think it’s a trick of the camera–compare to the picture of Monte Cristo right below him, in a near-identical phase of the stride, with a much better pastern angle.
