Dressage Hub is at it again

I don’t get exactly why SW has such a hate on for Brittany Fraser, it’s weird and disturbing. With two GP performances solidly in the 70s this weekend and the announcement that she won a 10,000 training bursary from Equestrian Canada, I figured SW would be spitting blood. Sure enough, I go over to the DH Facebook page and there is a gallery of photos pulled out of random videos where All In is being difficult, to make it look like Brittany is “abusing” him.

Even better, a bunch of DH accolytes are now commenting on the bursary announcement, lambasting Equestrian Canada for awarding to to an abusive rider who supports rollkur…it’s nauseating.

And this from the woman who claims to be against bullying in equestrian sport? Ha!

ETA Just scrolled down and found another brutal post, this time about Karen Pavicic. SW really does have some weird fixation against successful Canadian riders.

And her replies when people inquire why their polite, respectful but disagreeing with her comments are deleted? Priceless.

I don’t know who SW is but that is really unsportsmanlike and this person should be ashamed of themselves. You can think someone rides terrible, but keep that to yourself and concentrate on your own riding!! (rant over)

I don’t know anything about Brittany Fraser, but I don’t believe you can get that many pics like that if you are riding classically. So if, in fact, riders are bullying horses, is it bullying to call out the rider?

She only keeps up negative comments. I went back to see about my comment this morning and she deleted my comment. I posted something about "how can we be so quickly to judge based on 6 pictures. We were not there and know what happened before, during or after. Just judging quickly based on still pictures that look really bad is unfair. " Or something to that affect. I was completely positive and just questioning peoples comments.

I have ave always enjoyed her training videos to a degree even though she just took clips from trainers and put them together. Either way I thought they were interesting. I’m done with her now. I posted this to her recent post of the Robert Dover clinic on bullies. She’ll probably delete it too. I have stopped following her. Below is my post as I could not copy and paste it in here.

Yes, she may have an eye for the bad moments that shouldn’t be there. But she also publicly posts that she puts up negative posts about people she had a vendetta against. Including clinic video from some anonymous amateur who crossed paths with her. And a former coach where the business relationship broke down.

She ended up being banned from one of the big show venues down in Florida before she returned to Alberta last summer and the previous year I believe she had some conflict with the Canadian team.

It was all very ugly, and I would give no credence to her posts since by her own admission they are motivated by her desire to take down persons she has had conflict with.

If you want to evaluate the technique of the Canadian team I am sure there is a lot of video on YouTube for anyony to make up their own mind.

It’s actually really easy to get that many bad pictures if you do what she does, which is go through videos frame by frame to screenshot only the most unflattering images. Try it with a video of yourself riding - you might be appalled how many terrible looking moments there are. When the actual video is shown it’s easy to tell if there is a problem with the riding, or whether it’s simply a few minutes where the horse is misbehaving (a very hot 17.3 hand horse in this case) and a relatively small rider is struggling for a moment to regain control. It’s telling that sh never actually posts the full video.

And these specific images are not of yesterday’s warmup, as she tries to suggest. She has been banned from filming on the Global grounds precisely because of bullying posts like these. The images are at least a year old and more likely two. She has shared them all numerous times before. This handful of images is all the “proof” she has of supposed abusive riding.

Nobody has to take my word for it though. You can take a lesson or audit a clinic with any of these riders and judge for yourself how they train. You can go to the big shows and watch the warmups
and schooling rides. They don’t take place behind closed doors. Even better you can ask DressageHub to post the full videos so you can decide for yourself. I’m sure she won’t though, and if you do ask she will likely either delete your comment or respond with a snarky one of her own.

I really don’t understand what she has to gain by tearing others down. Surely there is enough actual abuse of horses going on out there that she could focus her attention on, were that truly her goal.

If you are at all curious read last summer’s thread on DH.

By her own admission some of this is click bait. She says she earns money on every click, however last summer COTH ers who understand social media platforms said they could not see a lot of evidence on monetization as she had lost her sponsors.

The back story seems to be that DH moved down to Florida with het horse a few years ago and set up a fb page or blog or whatever that was meant to publicize the high end dressage scene. She borrowed a lot of videos of YouTube and rebranded them and did some original filming.

Somewhere in there everything went south. She quit riding and claimed her coach owed her money for the online publicity she gave her. She started flaming her coach and coaches friends on DH. She started saying she had the power to destroy anyone by her awesome social media skills. Somewhere in there she fought with the Canadian team. Last year she was banned from at least one of the major Florida venues and retire to her hometown of Edmonton.

When I looked at her active followers last year there did not seem to be many actual riders but she did have some PETA types chiming in.

Because DH started with a strong connection to the Wellington scene there are likely many casual followers from way back who watch her borrowed videos but never really catch the nastiness and think she is still some how an official or accredited voice.

The more recent few years of her social media have been an epic meltdown in relations with the entire riding world.

I am just sticking to facts here. The mods have told us we can’t speculate on folks mental health.

There is however a definite disconnect between her account of things and what people affected by her say.

As far as motivation people can get themselves backed into a corner where they feel the need to keep defending themselves even after no one cares. We even see this in a tiny way on COTH threads that turn into trainwrecks.

I have taken a clinic with Brittany and the welfare of the horse comes first.

Suspect that SW has her knickers in an knot because Brittany won’t stand for her kind of trashy filming and trashy website. Nor does she need to considering the great year she has had.

SW needs to find a rock to crawl under, not throw at others. SW is an embarrassment.

Those are likely videos that she re-packages as her own. Sometimes not even bothering to cover or obscure the original source.
