I was lucky enough to know Evie for almost 30 years. She was always incredibly kind, impossibly elegant and a consumate horsewoman.
I was just thinking of her the other day when I was reminiscing about showing many years ago. Everything you said about her is spot on. She will be missed.

Such an icon of the sport in Canada. I used to love seeing her at shows - tiny lady with a huge presence! I interviewed her by phone a few times for articles and she was always so gracious and had wonderful stories. I sure wish I’d lived in Ontario during the IESS and World Cup heyday.
I was lucky enough to grow up at IESS/Eglinton Equestrian in the late 80s and early 90s. The entire Pracht family was incredible to be around. Never minded us barn rats hanging out watching them train all day.

I thought she had been unwell for the past couple of years but Wikipedia says she died of Covid. So sad.
I remember her from back in the day in Kronberg, Germany. Yes, that’s how old I am.
Rest in Peace, Frau Pracht. The world has lost one of the greatest horsewomen…
