Dressage Individual standings

After watching the last of the competitors go this morning competing for the teams I am in aawweeee. It is really great to watch such a diverse group of horses and riders doing the same test. The individual scores are up now and the top 25 (I believe) proceed to the freestyle now. I am cheering on Briar (as I am breeding one of my mares to him) and of course our only Canadian rep… Ashley Holzer. Who are you cheering for, for the freestyle or most looking forward to watching.

Supporting Canada! WOOT!

Ashley Holzer. I would also like to see Kyra K do well.

Another one for Ashley Holzer

Bummer that it’s only two riders from each nation max in freestyle, instead of the true top 15.

Isabell wins Special, Anky wins FreeStyle but I’m cheering for Courtney!!!

I will be cheering for Courtney - a super rider at her first Olympics!

Also for Kyra - what a legend she has become. And for Emma - yeah, she is a rich kid and a showboat at heart, but she is a hard worker and one of the few owners of a big stallion station that competes the stallions herself (no small feat!).

And for Andreas, who is so easy on the eyes, and who rides one of my very favorite stallions - Don Schufro! Did you see him in the victory gallop - he was so puffed up and proud of himself!

Also for the Russian - Alexandra. Her horse has such an interesting story behind him, and they did a great job!

A MILLION HOORAYs for Courtney!!

Isabell Werth! I want her to win gold. I’m also rooting for Courtney King-Dye. I’d love to see her in the top five.

All of the equestrian events are like that, eventing couldn’t have more than 3 per team go to the individual finals. I think gymnastics does something along those lines as well.

The Olympics are like that. It is to support smaller countries to give them a look in. The cream of the cream go to World Championships
and other big competitions. The Olympics is a stand-alone philosophy (and we don’t need any cracks to add to that, like “ya don’t say”, etc.)

I think Isabell will win - LOVED her horse, this was the first time I’d seen him go. But I’m rooting for Courtney to get up there for bronze.

I know. It’s just unfortunate that people who place much lower than the third rider on a team get a crack at the big one.
