Dressage jackets

So I am getting ready to show my warmblood mare in her first show, but now thinking I need a jacket. I am not super tiny, I am near 6 ft, long torso and super long arms and not a stick figure. what type of jackets should i start looking at? (brands). i am about 180 lbs, 6 ft, and C cup so hopefully that gives a good idea. i have not bought show cloths in a LONG time! thank you!!

Also…i HATE HATE HATE heat…so a jacket that is not super heavy as I live in Northern Virginia.

I am not super tall, but I do have a long torso, long arms, and a chest. The Kerrits stretch competition jacket fits me pretty well. If anything it is maybe too long in the torso and arms!

It is not as cool as some of the mesh jackets but it is very lightweight and served me well through the summer show heat in Florida. Plus it is a very reasonable cost for a first show jacket.

AA Motionlite - it is a mesh but does not look mesh unless up close. Comes in good colors, sleeves are nice and long. I’m not quite as tall as you, but long arms and it fits great.

I have this one, which is cheaper to buy direct from HorseWare: https://shop.horseware.com/product/aa-ladies-motionlite-competition-jacket-sale/

How does the inner material feel on that jacket? I have been eyeing it as my step-up show jacket, but I wanted to wait until I could try it on in person as I am pretty picky about scratchiness, stiffness, etc.

It feels fine to me, but I’m not that sensitive. You could always order from SmartPak or another place that does free returns so you can try it out.

Agreed, I love my Kerrits Koat, it is extremely lightweight and very generously sized.

I went with the RJ Classics Harmony mesh show coat. They have tall sizing which really helps us tall ladies out there. The entire coat is mesh except for the front panels. I wore it to an outdoor show here in FL, with a sleeveless show shirt underneath, and felt amazing. No overheating. Before that I had a Pikeur jacket, and even showing in climate controlled arenas I felt like I was dying.

It is a three-button jacket, not a 4-button jacket - that is not something I care about, but some people do.
