Dressage saddle & coronavirus whine

I have a demo saddle on trial from a local fitter that I briefly rode in Monday night. I tried 7 saddles that night.

I also arranged to have one shipped to PA from WA state. It is due to arrive on Wednesday afternoon. I then have a 5 day trial period. My horse now has an abscess that showed up the day after the saddle shipped. My barn is shut down due to coronavirus so I can’t try the saddles until who knows when.

The local fitter has told me to keep it since she can’t go to barns to let anybody else try it anyway.

I would expect the WA tack shop will give me a bit of an extension but there may come a point where I have to send it back without trying it.

First world problems. By the way I hate saddle shopping. Hate it.

I feel bad for the BO and my trainer.

Same, though you’re further along than I am. Was considering hauling to a fitting but they’ve been put on hold. I’m hoping to do what I can by mail. I’m fortunate (I think) that our barn is very small and private and I don’t think we could close down as a few of us take turns on barn chores. But I hear you - saddle shopping sucks to begin with. :frowning:
