Equestrian Stockholm makes cob size saddle pads. They look very nice, but pricey. Do any other companies make saddle pads for smaller horses?
I LOVE the custom Mattes from Hufglocken. Both the standard square and the euro cut. This is a med. on my 14.1 hand pony.

The Horze Prinze pads - they’re basic but look nice enough for a rather traditional show look. I use them on a 15.1 mare using a Bates size 0 saddle (16.5"-17").
I never measured the spines or drops when I saw them in person but the Collected Pony says they stock pony- and cob-sized pads.

I don’t ride a small horse, but I do ride in a small dressage saddle (16.5") with shorter flaps and it drowns in a standard size dressage pad. I’ve had great success using all purpose pads. Mattes and Catago are my current favorites, but for a cheaper option, Horze brand all-purpose pads also work - the spine for these may be a bit long though. I do make sure to measure the spine and drop before buying any saddle pad.

LeMieux makes a S/M, Eskadron has PD Pony Dressage, and maybe Smartpak or Dover have their cotton pads in smaller sizes but it’s been ages since I’ve looked.

I find you can get nice, reasonably priced small dressage pads from PRI. I ride in a pony size on my 14.2 hand welsh cob and a cob size on my 15.1 hand Morgan. They look great and hold up well wash after wash.
Another vote for the S/M le mieux pads. Not a huge mattes fan but I have a medium and the size is spot on to the LM.

Count me in for the Le Mieux S/M pad. The spine is short enough for my 13.2 pony’s short back and the drop is perfect for my dressage saddle. That size is difficult to find though; I found mine in a Dover store some time ago but now they don’t stock the S/M. Good thing too because I’d buy another in a heartbeat.

PS of Sweden, HKM, and equito also make cob pads, but they too are pricey.
I have two small ones–a pony and a hony–and when I find a pad I like that doesn’t come in a cob size, I usually get all purpose pads, which tend to be the perfect size.
I need the opposite - my mare is somewhere in the 16.3+ size range, and saddle is 18", but I have short flaps and regular pads are too long for my legs to touch her body! I’ve been using A/P pads, but would love to find a regular length pad with short drop.
