Dressage Saddle to Jump?

I’m pondering trying out a little jumping at a small show (super low) just for something different to do. We pop over little jumps at home in my dressage saddle quite nicely. I don’t want to go buy a whole new outfit/tack for this experiment. I looked at the USEF hunter and jumper rules and I cannot find anything addressing type of saddle. Do you think it’s permissable to use my dressage saddle?

At an open show I doubt anyone will disqualify you for using your dressage saddle.

I personally would find jumping in almost any other saddle to be easier than using a dressage saddle, but if you are comfortable using it…go for it.

Check the actual rules or give management a call of whatever show (and if they are run by a club/affiliate/etc) but it shouldn’t be a problem if this is an unrated schooling show. Raise your stirrups as short as you can comfortably and go for it! Tack that would actually get you DQ’d would be horse boots, cavesson, or martingales that are specifically not allowed. This would be stated.
Go have some fun!
