Dressage sire for Don Alfredo/Wolkenstein II mare

I am looking for input on a sire for this mare. I will be using frozen. Her pedigree is at http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/d+stay+tuned

She is a big boned horse, so could use some refinement. She tends to stamp her babies extremely well (seen babies from three different sires, they all look just like her). Some pictures of a 2013 baby (not mine) and her are here:

Her pedigree with photo is here:

I have two of her babies. Her 2015 son by Bellissimo M son Benidetto (very lofty, BIG, a bit of an attitude) and 2016 by Rascalino (looks more hunter-y). I will try to add pictures of them.

(edited to fix 2015 sire!)

Secret? New but interesting cross

How about Dauphin? http://www.aileronstables.com/dauphin.php Available fresh semen, and a refining type with a super temperament. His offspring have done well, and he is consistent with the type he throws, ie, correct legs, topline, etc, as well as movement.

You own D. Stay Tuned? I am the breeder and owner of her 2013 foal who is amazing under saddle. I would love to see her Rascalino foal. Her 2015 foal is by Benidetto, not Bellissimo. She was in foal to Benidetto when I sold her. I think she is a wonderful mare but she does tend to throw a more heavier type foal. If I still had her I’d go with a stallion proven to add length of leg, a better neck, and more elasticity.

If you want length of leg, Schroeder can do well and throws really good trainability and attitude. He has been stamping his babies, so might be worth a try.

Fourbeats… that’s hilarious. Yes, I own her and you are right her 2015 baby is by Benidetto, not Bellissimo M. I bought Baba O’Riley (the foal’s name) and DeeDee together with the Rascalino baby she was carrying in January 2016. They are still all three at our place. I accidentally betrayed my thoughts on that slip-up: I really like how her Benidetto son is turning out, and I was thinking of going back a generation to Bellissimo M for the next foal. I do my own AI and prefer frozen semen (believe it or not!)

Here is a video of that Benidetto baby: https://youtu.be/23JoJwRAvbw

This is her 2016 Rascalino baby

Wow, look at the bling on the Rascalino baby! I really like him. I think the Beneditto took after his momma too, he moves more like a hunter than I would have expected. I like Bellissimo better than Beneditto but I think you would still end up with an older style foal. If you want dressage then you need to pick a really prepotent stallion. Using frozen gives you a lot of possibilities.

Honestly, if I had her back, I’d breed for a knockout hunter foal.

What do you think of Sir Donnerhal for her?

He might be an interesting cross for her. He tends to add length of leg and over all refinement along with height (not that she needs help there). He needs a mare with a strong, powerful hind leg which she has so yea, I’d consider him. The only worry I might have is his foals can be a bit sensitive but if you like the Beneditto colt then you would be fine.
