I have not read all the replies, but as I scanned through the responders, most of them are knowledgable and lend good info.
“Boleem” sounds much like what you are looking for. He died 2 years ago, but he is still breeding successfully with the frozen semen I have at Select Breeders’ Service ( can give you references from, actually, quite hard to breed mares with that semen).
He was long-listed for the USET Dressage team. Not a big horse, but one with tremendous heart and super conformation for dressage. Not at all “old-fashioned” at all in type. Somewhere in between…
A child could sleep in a stall with him, such a kind horse – but with a passion to work at the highest level (he was built for the sport) and to please his “person”.
I have never really aggressively promoted him or made stallion breeding my primary business. But I can tell you he was mostly used for serious dressage riders, and those who now have mature offpring I keep hearing “this is the horse of my dreams”. Some from TB mare owners. Wonderful to hear.
You may pm me if you want as I shut my website down some years ago and would be happy to send you on to those who have Boleem offspring of riding age and you can speak with them directly. As they say, “the proof is in the pudding”

Thanks Misita! Same to you!!! I think Bravo winning at Open Prelim. as an 8y.o. speaks to great athleticism and trainability in the bloodlines beyond just being a sweet, pretty foal:cool:
My boy started out with a wonderful dressage trainer, and was sent to an excellent H/J rider/trainer purely because there is a better market in “hunter world.” My boy went from dressage breeding stallion, to gelded and doing complete hunter courses with flying changes and changes over fences in about 2 mo. time. His trainer bought him for herself.

He was winning at prelim as a 7 year old. In 2012, at 8, he’s moving up to CCI* and CCI**. Huge year for Bravo so keep him in your prayers. It gets scary from here.
I didn’t know you sold him. Congratulations. It’s so hard to let go of them. The Bugatti’s do seem to be really versatile.
The OP said she’s looking for non-modern type though and I wouldn’t say the Bugatti’s are non-modern. They’re very typey, at least the ones I’ve seen.

Prayers Jingles & Hammers are with you…it gets scary, but it’s the stuff world class dreams are made of!
It was not at all hard for me to sell him to his new owner…she is awesome and has all the right stuff to take him to the top. That, plus I know he has the brain to not only survive on the circuit, but actually flourish…AND…I still have his dam and daughter:cool:
Just from what I have observed, IMHO the Bugatti offspring are very typy, but he doesn’t totally obliterate the dam in the offspring.
Oh - I forgot Landkonig. I had the sweetest, easiest filly by him in July 2006 and have heard from countless other breeders that Landkonig throws a quiet and easy temperament. This filly was 1st and 2nd in her 1st-ever dressage competitions and also won the last 3 events she partook of this season, plus the divisional championship, all with an ammy in the saddle. (a good jumper too.)
