Dressage stallions who have Grand Prix horses standing in the US?

Pik L! Competed through Grand Prix himself and produced numerous FEI horses, including his stallion son, Pikko del Cerro who is currently competing Grand Prix.

Don Principe has competed at Grand Prix level for many years and should not be overlooked. His stallion son, Doctor Wendell, is now competing at PSG at age 6.

R.Johnson is Dutch and the sire of Jim Koford’s GP horse Rhett. He stands in Pa at Colourfields.

E.H Buddenbrock for sure…

So far the list of US based stallions that have produced GP offspring looks as follows:

Freestyle. This just came across my facebook page

A fun Friday fact, Freestyle is one of the few stallions currently standing in North America to have sired a successful International Grand Prix horse. The KWPN mare Twinkle R (Dam sire Hamlet) was 5th in the Pavo cup as a young horse, she went on to compete at Verden in the world young horse championships. Won the dutch indoor championships at ZZ with owner/rider Jan Willem Schotte. She them went on to show at the Grand Prix level, in Germany, Spain and Holland both Jan Willem Schotte, and top German rider/trainer Hubertus Schmidt with scores to 77.4 %

You can also add Donnerschlag, Florianus II, Rousseau, and Rubignon to your list.

And I don’t think Pablo sired any GP offspring himself, but he has a daughter who produced two by Welt Hit II, and another daughter who produced one by Argentinus.

Of the stallions in the list above, which have produced international GP horses?

I didn’t know you wanted those who produced international GP horses.

Your post the other day said:

I didn’t, I just added that. As a curiosity.

Rousseau
Freestyle

Possibly Florianus has a daughter competing internationally (Florencia B)…she is at least at Grand Prix, but whether she has shown outside her country I’m still researching that.

Yes, I mentioned Rousseau and Florianus in my post above (#26).

By “international”, I assume you mean horses that have competed in GP at CDI’s - correct?

That takes a bit more work to research - requires looking at the FEI database.

I believe your post was answering the question of whether Grand Prix offspring were produced.

The post I was responding to was whether there were INTERNATIONAL grand prix offspring produced. International means they are competing in foreign countries at the Grand Prix level… not just on the tour within their homeland.

FWIW, the Florianus daughter Florencia B has competed GP at CDI3# events - mostly in Poland, I think.

I will try to look up some of the others.

There are others i’ll add. And I’ll make a note of which have GP CDI offspring as well.

Right.

As for “international”, I thought she meant competing in CDIs - whether in their home country or not.

CDI’s whether here or abroad is good enough. True? Are the CDI’s in the US considered to be at the same level as a CDI in Europe? I’d like to try and make a list of who is producing GP and who is producing big time GP.

As for the list - Contango for sure has produced CDI GP offspring (Ravel).
