I’ve been working my way through the FEI YouTube free videos, and I know the USEFNetwork has the finals from last year. Ideally looking for things with commentary, I’m a novice rider so it’s helpful. I have not watched the new test symposiums yet so will get to those… any other free resources I’m missing?
No suggestions on what to what, but some advice from London Gray.
To help educate yourself, try watching just one part of the rider (hands, legs, seat) as you watch the ride. It’s very useful. I know I trend to miss those details when I watch the whole picture.
Edward Gal’s hip/seat flexibility to allow the horses back to lift and move is incredible.
I love watching sale videos. The professional ones.
Superior Sport Horses and Stafford Barton Stud are my faves.
I dont find watching upper level rides useful. Admiration yes but not especially helpful unless the rider is training or perhaps in a clinic.
I’m never gonna get to those levels.
But sale videos usually have good riders that I can watch and see what they are doing.
And now I think I’m going to go youtube and see what’s there
Google Emile Faurie… I like his short videos with tips…
I enjoyed the Debbie McDonald clinic at Rutledge Farm through the USEF Network.
Amelia Newcomb has a YouTube channel that you might get a lot out of. Her brother has one as well, but Amelia’s is overall more instructional.
A pro riding, but I can’t help but remember this ride very fondly as one of the best I’ve ever seen… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k2vroFNkXrg
