Dressage!!!

OK, I went back to watch Anky’s ride to see the fuss. On NBC they went WAY close up at the halt, but I could CLEARLY see her put her hand down and bow her head. She saluted.

Kinda mean to be making assumptions about her, especially with her husband, partner in the hospital.

As for her “laughing off” the salute in Hong Kong, I didn’t see or read that, but from my experience with her talking to her at a symposium and at the Vegas World Cup, she is a hella funny person who takes things in good stride.

As for the feed, I found it again. Click on online listings on the start page, scroll down to equestrian, and the replay for dressage day 1. It seems to come and go, but it’s there now! No more links for me!

Really? I will have to go watch again, my third time it will be, as I sure didn’t see it. Maybe I blinked. And just to be sure we are on the same page, or halt, as it were - we are talking about the halt/salute at the end, not beginning.

alto, are you in Canada? If you can see OLN and RDS, you must be and that’s why you won’t be able to watch anything on NBC. Geographical regulations… same as nobody in the US can see the OLN/CTV replays.

Here is the link to the replay on CTV for Canadians

Usually NBC just tells me to legoff as I’m not valid, so it was rather funny that instead if offered other options  - only to crash the whole IE :uhoh:

That CTV link should work but it was miserable all day - sometimes it didn’t exist at all, other times, I’d be able to watch a few frames or even a few minutes before getting crashed or just frozen on a frame (needed to force a shutdown to get free) :sigh:
so I decided to give up on today’s footage & just get up at 3am to watch it in real time …
BUT even though OLN had the dressage listed yesterday as being available on the live feed, & then repeating at 4pm, now OLN lists footage from Glasgow starting at 4am & then 3 hours of Equestrian at 4pm …
soooo OK I could resign myself to watching the shortened edited weallknowwhowon version EXCEPT no Equestrian actually showed on OLN today despite being scheduled & even advertised as Up Next

Anky’s pretty famous for not saluting or doing a real halt. She didn’t do a real halt and salute here either and she should. She also wanted to get the extended walk out of the GP test. She has hyped horses that don’t fit those relaxation moves very well. No one said she’s not nice. She’s very nice and dedicated.

Well, she DID a halt and a salute. Go back and look back at the tape.At 1:49:21 on the NBC replay it’s a wide shot with Salinero clearly doing a lovely, still square halt, and then a quick cut to the top of her chest and face where she does put her hand up first, but then drops it and bows at 1:49.23. The problem is they way they keep cutting the cameras back and forth.

She’s had some issues with THIS horse on the last halt. She’s had other horses and it’s not been an issue, so calling her “famous” for not saluting and halting is no fair.

She does not want the extended walk out. Bonfire had a horrible extended walk and did not improve no matter what they did so she didn’t like it for HIM. Salinero has a lovely extended walk. By the way, if you’ve ever ridden the GP test, the extended walk is usually one of the easiest moves because the horses are so glad to stretch and take a break. It’s the keeping the collected walk together before the passage that is the hard one because it’s hard to keep the horse from anticipating.

I did not say there wasn’t a halt. I did see that. I was floored by the earlier halt/rein back … She needs those marks now with the older Salinero vs. the younger horse that didn’t need them! I did not see the salute, but I’ll go back and watch the replay tomorrow. I watched both the NBC “TV” version and replay of the live feed, but agree that the change of camera angles may have cut some part…like I said, maybe I blinked.

Morning! Go Tina! 70.456.

Well I downloaded ExPat and got it all ready last night, but this AM, NO SOUND.

GRRRR…at least I can hear hoofbeats and the announcer on NBC.
