Up next!

You should really post a spoiler alert!

Such a sweet interview! Steffen was practically in tears again, and when they asked Sabine what she had on her mind, she said “don’t mess up!” They explained the partnership with their horses. Very nice. I kind of felt sorry for the gal who was sitting next to them. She talked about how long she’d been working toward her medal, but it wasn’t quite the same after the dressage team.

I hadn’t realized it had been 70 years since we had gotten a team medal?

so they have already interviewed them? I am sitting here waiting to see it, so I guess I missed it.

Where can I see this?

More than 70 years (1948) since the US got a SILVER medal, they have several bronze medals.

Try the NBC website, specifically the third hour of the Today Show. It was on regular broadcast TV, not a special cable station.

The interviewer could have prepared better so he pronounced the names correctly.

I guess some publicity is better than no publicity, but I had hoped for more.

Did they run the interview early?

No, it was at around 9:15 EDT.

well I am in central time so 8 o’clock hour, but thy interviewed a golfer and talked about Simone.

Same here. No mention of Equestrian.

I wonder if they time-delay the Today show? So it would still be in the 9:00 hour? Setting the DVR to record the next hour just in case.

I caught the interview and was thinking they really didn’t make that clear for the viewers. Craig made it seem like it was the first equestrian medal in 70 years; to be fair, he and the rest of the non-horse people have no idea and not much reason to care.

They make so little effort to get it right when it comes to equestrian events. :frowning:

It’s annoying. But on the other hand, it’s hard enough to explain to non-horse people people the difference between the 3 equestrian events. It’s not the most relatable sport. I’m just happy for the team that they got air time.

You’re right, and I’m so happy for the team that they got this national recognition on the Today Show. They deserve a little attention for their accomplishment.
