Dressage!

He had ridden before, just not dressage horses.

Brett Kidding would be perfect!

I was rewatching a few of the freestyle tests. My boyfriend watched for a few minutes, then said “I like the Eventing stuff, but what is the point of making horses dance to music?” :joy:

Do we know if there are any breeding plans? Surrogate delivery or otherwise? That’s a heck of a mare I’d take several of.

Also I was a cruel person too who made their SO watch all 20 hours of dressage. Honestly he was more attentive than watching my guy go do 3 rounds in the baby greens in a class of 20 (admittedly, it’s a lot of babies… doing a range of green things…).

And to his credit he did a very good job picking out the better horses/who was going to win. The only one he was really salty about was Fogoso.

IMO Dressage is like opera—people actually know more about it than they realize, and even if they can’t articulate what makes something good, they do recognize good.

According to Eurodressage, breeding is the plan. Didn’t say by what means.

Just to acknowledge the balls of steel that Charlotte Dujardin owns, that freestyle was the only the second Gio had ever done and she got the music and floor plan only three days before so it was totally new to both of them!

Any idea what happened with Mt. St. John Freestyle? The news bit said she didn’t maintain sufficient fitness. I cannot believe a horse that was prepped for these games and the favored horse for Charlotte wouldn’t have had sufficient fitness work done.

It was said later that they thought Gio would handle the travel and heat better.

I would think embryo transfer/egg retrieval. She has a history of laminitis which combined with her age would be a bad idea to carry a foal.

Hahaha that’s hilarious!

I would think so, too, but I was simply stating that the method was not mentioned in the article, only that she would be a broodmare.

Bit of a random question, but are horses not allowed to have a farm prefix in their “Olympic name?” I noticed that Blue Hors Zack was announced as just “Zack,” same with Glock’s Dream Boy just called “Dream Boy.” My only guess was some sort of ban on commercial advertising?

Yes that is correct. No sponsor prefix / names

Was this already mentioned? I saw on IG that Charlotte Dujardin is now Britain’s most decorated female Olympic athlete ever! You go girl!

(Didn’t fact check, don’t want to )
