Wow. I have paid $60 to $80 Canadian extra. Farriers don’t like doing it, it takes a half hour extra, and tapping is finicky.
$20
I pay $4 per hole when the holes are initially drilled and tapped and then nothing extra after that, even though they are tapped everytime they are reset.
I think its 5 per shoe for mine. I only have the outer hole done with mine unless its for ice studs in winter.
We charge $10/pair. It takes about 10-15 minutes to drill, countersink and tap 4 shoes. Charging nothing with the price of drill bits and taps isn’t the kind of smarts I want in someone nailing things on my horse.
I want to say $20? At one point I was pay $180 for the horse to have 4 drilled and tapped plus a pad on 1 front.
Paid 15 for hinds only until I told him to stop…had a Hunter, rarely showed on grass and that was well drained and manicured. He grumbled but got over it. If you don’t use caulks, you don’t need to spend on that even though a lot of them will try to make drill and tap mandatory.
$40 For the initial tapping from my guy.
