Driveway cable thingy that dings when someone comes in

What do you call that cable thing that old service stations/gas stations had that ding when someone drives over it. Low tech and likely not expensive .

I want one but don’t know what it is called so can’t search.

It would save me a lot of grief re deliveries etc if I had something like that to let me know when someone came in the driveway.

If I’m in the house, I don’t hear vehicles driving up to the barn.

Driveway alert system.

Great thing to have. Alerts my dogs when to start barking, LOL!

You may like the wireless ones better.
We have several and they do beep in the house or wherever you set the base station.
You can get them also that beep your cell phone.

One good company is Dakota Alert.

You can buy the wireless cheap ones at most any Loewes, Home Depot, Walmart, etc.

Here’s where you can get the old fashion gas station bell hoses. I used one for MANY years at our place.

I love the original Milton bell but I fear the hose would be ruined by plowing the driveway…We have an ‘electric eye’ type dinger and it is great. The box hangs on a tree about 150 yards from the house and only dings when a vehicle passes it. It is triggered by metal, not movement so the deer don’t wake us up all night…

Yes-good point about winter and snow plow. Will look at the others as well

Yup, mine is the electric eye type. Inexpensive and works even if someone walks up the driveway.

I suggest the sysem by Cartell, its American made and can be used to all sorts of device activations… ligths, cameras, alarms… Cost is about $400 depending upon devices used.

It’s been the number one sensor used by drug dealers for decades, so it works very well

First used to protect farm equipment such as combines… park it over the sensor , move piece of equipment …alarm sent as far away as 11 miles

I have a wireless baby monitor at the barn that serves the same purpose.

HOW AWESOME. Thanks for posting that!
