Anyone drive with the achenbach method of holding the reins? I recently took a lesson with a new instructor, and he prefers it.
It is one way of rein handling. We use it, along with other rein holds, because we usually are out driving for longer times. Your hands get tired of one positio, especially if you have ant hand issues like arthritus, weak hands, or other issues.
We have found Achenbach reins and hand holds to be nice to use on the horses, comfortable. If your Trainer can teach you this method it adds to your driving skills, ability to be more adaptable with your equines. Go for it!
