Dry Lot Material?

Fortunately for me Dad has horses at his house too. I pointed out the favored rolling spots in his pastures and he quickly realized how more depth is a good plan!

Thanks for sharing those numbers! Very interesting!

It’s a bit more expensive here I understand. But I will double check. If I’m recalling correctly more like 800 for the 22 yard truck.

No snow here! We barely survived a polar vortex earlier this week! Lows below freezing two nights in a row! Crazy! Hopefully the mosquitoes are all dead now. Very tired of bugs.

That’s good to know you are able to rake it a bit to keep it smooth ish.

Thanks so much for sharing!

Sorry, on my phone & haven’t figured out how to use Quote feature on it

My barn aisle & stall floors also based with 9" of gravel. Not the road base & no geotextile beneath.
It was 16yrs ago, so, as best I remember, excavator did use equipment to compact the gravel.
He then put 4-6" of limestone screenings on top & compacted that.
At first it was still loose, almost like beach sand.
Now - and for probably the last 10 yrs - it has compacted so it feels like cement to me. Can be swept & even hosed off, but horses still leave shallow imprints where they walk in the aisle.
The stall floors are hard as concrete.
