Well now that the hubbub has died down from the Pegasus, let’s move on to Dubai
I’ve read a few clips here & there about possible entries (for any of the races on the card)but nothing concrete as of yet.
Anyone else with more current info?

Some current DWC news
I know that World Approval will be going to Dubai. He had his first race back last Saturday at Tampa at a 1 1/16 and won even though he was still a little short after his freshening. He got the job done though, because he is a tough runner and held on for the win. The best thing Casse did with this horse was drop him back into mile races which was a perfect fit for him, Shame he didn’t have Za Approval when he was running as I think he would have been more successful at that distance as well even though he did run his eyeballs out in the BC to be beat by Wise Dan!
MYL, I don’t believe you are correct. On Monday (2/12), Mark Casse said World Approval would be staying in the US.

The Dubai Turf is about 1 1/8 miles and World Approval does best at 1 mile races.
Yes just heard that tonight. I think they are making a good decision here
Forever Unbridled is aiming for history to be first female to win the DWC…
I think a mare could win the DWC but not sure I think she is the one but that’s why they run horse races
Mendelssohn was incredible! (in the UAE Derby) Winner by 18 and 1/2 lengths & I think I heard a new track record?
Mind Your Biscuits made a HUGE effort to snag the win for the 2nd time in the Golden Shaheen.

race results so far…
Thunder Snow makes it looks easy in the World Cup.
I thought Forever Unbridled showed well for a nice 5th place finish.
I agree, I was very happy with Forever Unbridled’s performance. I didn’t really think she had a strong chance to win but made a very nice account for herself.
Wonder if they will retire her or keep going this year…
Plans are in place to breed her to Medaglia d’Ora. If she doesn’t take for some reason, they may opt to continue to race for the year.
Wow, Mendelssohn was impressive in the UAE Derby.

Then had to go back and watch his Keeneland Sale Tape where he took in $3M.
He’s a half to Beholder and Into Mischief!
Mendelssohn is the real deal. Probably the most live UAE Derby winner to ever head to Kentucky. He showed us last year that he can ship and handle both the atmosphere and racing traffic. My only question is what he will do if he gets dirt kicked in his face in Kentucky Derby, because it’s unlikely he will get the pleasant trip he experienced in the UAE Derby.
I was happy to see Thunder Snow win the big prize. The horse has never been worse than 2nd at Meydan, the only shocker is how easily he romped the field.
I just love Thunder Snow. he is positively stunning with his chiseled head. Always thought he was the type of horse who might get better with age since he was a greenie last year.
Mendelssohn is my pick for the Derby if they can get him to the states ASAP and get him settled in. I love that hes a US bred getting it done overseas. Will be happy to see him back in the states for the first Saturday in may.
The really encouraging thing about Mendelssohn is that he and the Ballydoyle crew shipped to Del Mar last fall the Monday before the Breeders Cup. Granted he was with 12 of his closest “pals,” but he was able to handle the transcontinental flight, adapt to the backside and morning routine, deal with the hubbub of activity, and still win the race after being covered up on the rail the entire trip. I don’t think any other top three year old has shown that level of professionalism thus far.
