Dublin/dubarry boots and a high I step...

Sorry if this has been addressed before, I did a search and nothing came up but I’m not that good at searching!

I love the look of Dubarry boots, or the Dublin version. The issue is I have a really high instep.

I ordered a pair on Black Friday and they came today. I ordered a size bigger to see if more wiggle room would help. I also thought buying them online and trying to get them on away from the sales ladies staring at me might help…

I got them on, 15 minutes later…

Anyone have any tricks?

Which did you buy, Dubarry or Dublin?

I have a high instep and have a pair of the Dubarry Galways in the ExtraFit. I need the ExtraFit in the calf, but it also has a widened ankle to help with such issues.

I bought the Dublin’s in the wide calf. Fits great!.. Once they’re on…

I just bought the Dublins too. They can be a bit difficult to get on, I agree! They are great for bumming around and light riding though. I told my hubby when we go to Ireland for our 15th, I am getting a pair of Dubarrys though!!! Only 4 more years

I have the regular width Dublins, I can get them on but I literally cannot get them off without DH. I thought it was just me as I have very limited flexion in my ankles. I will say that the thin boot socks worn OVER thin pants help.

I can’t get my foot in the Dublin boots. No problem with the Dubarry boots. I don’t even have a high instep.

That’s interesting… I didn’t try the dubarry’s because the measurements listed were the same and the reviews were similar so I figured I would save the money. Now I’m wondering if I should have tried them!
