I think I read somewhere that alcohol helps with the purple stain. Also, I use a sugar or salt scrub on my hands to try to keep the finger cracks at bay. Barn hands are not pretty:)
I have used bleach with good results. Just rinse well.
For dry, cracked hands it’s Bag Balm. Buy it your local co-op or on line. It’s a LOT cheaper than that way than in specialty stores.
As for staining, sometimes it’s sort of like a piece of hay in your hair or some slobber on your jeans or your “aura” in the line at the supermarket: just another badge of honor as a horse owner!!!
Try the above but if it doesn’t work then just accept that it really doesn’t matter, either.
Merry Christmas!!!

A pumice stone with soap and water followed by a good moisturizer.
GaryTheSquirrel… I think that’s what I did last time. Thank you for jogging my memory.
Although Im sure bleach and alcohol would work, I"m not sure my skin could take the beating. But thanks all for the suggestions.
Goop Hand cleaner or Groomers Goop. That stuff really works. It was originally made as a hand cleaner for auto mechanics.
It’s cheap too. Only $2.33 at Walmart

Hardware stores have similar products too. Sometimes mineral oil or lanolin can sort of float stuff off the skin that won’t scrub off. At least greatly minimize what’s left. Without sanding off any layers of skin.
I second the bag balm remedy for dry, cracked hands. Put a thin layer on at bedtime and cover w/ cotton gloves or socks, which will keep the bag balm on your hands and not on the sheets or in your hair. Works wonders.
Gramp Lyford’s Country Salve, available online, great for clearing up and keeping hands in good shape without wearing gloves at night. I’m looking at a few little lines of Thrush Buster right now, I’ll just let them disappear on their own.
I used hand sanitizer to get it off
Gloves in the future. For now time will help, but it so slow.
May I suggest matching nail varnish.
merrygoround
Yeah, tell people it’s a new trend - like henna designs, only freeform
Shuddering at the thought of using anything abrasive on cracked skin
The mechanic stiff is probably safest.
& next time: nitrile gloves!
STUFF! mechanic stuff
damn Edit non-function…
