Dutch Horse Trading Auction

Does anyone have any experience buying from this group?

Yes! We have a lovely six year old from a previous auction who we couldn’t be happier with. He was exactly as described but I took the time to ask a lot of questions of the sellers prior to auction’s start. Another barn mate bought a similarly lovely jumper from DHS a few months after we bought ours and he’s also been great. We both had a great experience and I keep in touch with our gelding’s breeder to give them updates on how he’s doing.

Any issues with the transaction itself? It seems like the auction works with a network of dealers so there are a few people involved, however there is a lovely 5 yo gelding that I am super interested in. This seller is VDH Stables.
Thank you!

That’s exactly what it is, a group of sellers coming together under one auction house. I had no issues at all. After auction’s end I received an invoice from the auction, and then asked for the invoice to be resent without VAT because we were exporting to the US. I had Horseflight arrange for all transport, bloodwork, etc. All I had to do was send a wire per auction closing instructions and the rest was taken care of.

I love the gelding we bought, he’s kind, honest and lovely. Ours came from a different seller than the one you are looking at and I felt ours was accurately represented. Our barn mates had a similar great experience buying from another seller at the auction.

I bought one earlier this year from this auction, albeit from a different seller. I did message the seller during the auction and got a quick response. You may wish to do so about the one you’re interested in, if you haven’t already.

The auction company was easy to work with. I’m happy with the horse I bought. He was accurately represented.

VDH frequently has horses in the monthly DHT auction.
