So, I started another post asking if anyone knew of any sport boots that provides extra fetlock support. In reply, I mostly got members explaining that sport boots cannot provide support and cause harm because of heat build up.
I know that boots provide support and if you use them correctly, heat build up will not occur to the point of harming your horse. Please, this is not a debate post. If you cannot answer or provide insight for the question that I have you do not need to add your opinions. I apologize if I sound rude but, I just would have liked an answer to my question.
I discovered Dynamic Edge Sport Boots. I was wondering if any of you have ever tried them or have them. Also, what do you think of this boot? Lastly, I can’t seem to find a sizing chart so do they run like the regular sizes (Pony=small, Horse=medium, etc.)?
Never used them, but the look similar to the Iconoclast boots that I know many people who swear by them.
I can’t find a size chart, but apparently there is one on the back of the package. Maybe try calling the tack stores that carry it (like NRS World or Smith Brothers).
I personally have never used the Dynamic Edge boots. But the design looks very similar to Iconoclast, but less bulky. From what others have told me, they have a shorter design than Iconoclast, which will work well if your horse has short cannon bones.
I tried to Google a size chart but couldn’t find one. If you’re horse is “average” I’d start with the medium and go from there.
Hi,
I’m also interested in purchasing a pair of dynamic Edge boots and can’t find the size chart.
My horse if healing from a front suspensory injury and the vet told me to get the kind of Sport boots that Criss-Cross in the front. I initially purchased the iconoclast boots early January 2018 (now aug 2018). They have already began to fall apart. I use them twice a week in a sandy Arena. The Icionoclast material is already ripping everywhere.
I decided to look into the dynamic Edge boots because of the negative customer service treatment I received today, when I contacted Icionoclast to tell them about my issues. I told him that I liked their boots, however I didn’t like that they fell apart in less than a year. The response was less than satisfactory, since they gave me a generic response to email the dealer in Texas.
Some of the girls that I Barrel race with, use the dynamic Edge and they say they like them a lot, but the sizes run small. So I too, have been looking for the size chart and I can’t seem to find it.
I guess I say all that to say #1/ I’m not impressed with Iconoclast or their customer service. #2/ Dynamic Edge needs to make their size chart more readily available to people, and #3/ IF somebody knows what the size chart is please post it thanks.
PS
ALSO, with regards to those people that say that we SHOULDN’T use sports boots on our horses… my horse sustained his injury the day I rode him WITHOUT SPORT BOOTS (I did this ONLY because I was told that they were bad… Shame on me for not researching more on this)
From here on out, I’m using (correctly) quality, ventilated boots when riding at more than a walk .

While it is certainly not going to hurt your horse, and I always boot up when I am going to be doing barrel work or reining work, keep in mind that the research has PROVEN that sport boots actually provide very LITTLE real SUPPORT. If you actually request copies of the studies and read it for yourself, you’ll find small sample sizes and wildly wide variable results.
So just don’t get a false sense of security with “support” from any boot. But I would still boot up if I were you.
But if I’m just doing trail riding to keep my horses conditioned (most of the riding I do) I only put on bell boots. I only boot up if I am going to be doing maneuvars in the arena.
Tkotx,
I never did find a size chart, but my horse who wears a size medium in Professional’s Choice boots wears a large in Dynamic Edge. I hope this is of some help to you.
Also, when putting them on, make sure they are nice and snug and up high enough so they cant slide down. This should make more sense when you begin to use them. They’re a bit odd when first getting used to the design.
