E bay and selling saddles, Advice

i would avoid selling a saddle on ebay at all costs unless you want to pay for return shipping (and price you paid to ship to buyer) because the buyer can return it for any reason (or make something up). saddles are so particular to fit, it’s very likely you get it back. ebay is not what it was a few years ago, they side with the buyer 99.99% of the time. and if someone does return it, pray it is the saddle in the same condition (and not a box of rocks or broken saddle). i sold something on ebay for $2k, buyer returns it but just uses the same zip code and not my actual address (i had proof of this) and ebay still gave the money back to the buyer. i spent hours on the phone before i gave up.

stick to FB groups or consignment, not worth the headache!

^^^This!

I just had to take a return for $725. The saddle in question was on the buyers listings as stunning & $400 more. After 29 days of not selling it, they reported to Ebay that it arrived damaged. How do I prove otherwise? I already stated it As Is & as a No return item, plus I had pictures, it didn’t matter to Ebay. Buyer is always right in the eyes of Ebay. Had to pay it all back and lose fees & shipping fees. Nothing is wrong with the saddle.

Never again, I can’t afford to act as a consignment store plus pay fees & shipping. If someone wants to cheat with the new Ebay 30 day money back guarantee, they will. I am now leary of Serious Saddle Sellers as this is the type that duped me.

Would you feel comfortable posting the user name? I think many of us would like to avoid someone who pulls these sorts of tricks!

Sure, via PM.

Lots of local 4H, dressage chapters, etc. Have periodic tack sales. Keep your eyes open and sell at one of those.
