Those are stunning!!
I use Deep Woods Off -(or equivalent generic) and last summer tried the newer DEET Free ones. Nothing lasts for 12-24 hrs, but they give a few hours relief.
I discussed with my vet, no concerns.
Oh, is this a new and improved style of earbonnet? It looks like a forehead lump? Maybe is to help keep browband in place?

I think they are just adding the logo and a piece of material to make it part of the ombre collection. Itās an ugly ear bonnet if you ask me, but functionally itās no different than any other ear bonnet.
Ohā¦just optical illusion then. good. It appears like there is a pillowy-lump in the apex partā¦the part below the browband.
This whole thing is reminding me of the Voltaire hat thread with Claude and the angry girlfriend.
? In Candide?
LOL, Nope, At Rolex
Love that color on your horse. Never thought to do that on a grey
I use this too, spray it right on my helmet cover and then spray it right on my guyās fly mask/bonnet.
Then wipe his neck and cheek down with Clac Deo Gel.
The bugs were so bad one year I almost talked myself into buying those fly neck covers specifically for riding. It covers the top line of the horse. I think it was called a āfly shield?
it is better looking than a bright red. Though, once white-white, i think iād like a bright red just fine.

I know you are looking for plain, but if you canāt find what you like If the Bonnet Fits does excellent quality custom bonnets and typically has a good Black Friday sale (buy one get one half off I think last year) plus price depends on what you want added on (piping, bling, etc) so plain will be pretty affordable and her prices are very reasonable to begin with. I love the 3 I have from her and will probably order more as my new horse wonāt fit in the 3 I have.
Love their bonnets, have 8, all custom ( because why not), and one custom silence quiet bonnet. Fits my horses head so much better than the one size fits all silence bonnets that give my horses donkey ears and allows them to shake their bridle off.
She is so great to work with, lots of designs and color choices and good / accurate delivery time.
She has a FB page and I think instagram
Lol I sure hope bonnets arenāt going out of fashion. The kids at the barn finally have me convinced to start selling the custom ones I make (including fun patterned ones for them ).
Definitely not going out of style in CA. I use one with my horse almost year-round, because the flies drive him crazy.
oiā¦The world is a mighty big place. What may work in one area may not work in anotherā¦
My horses live outside. In the summer, they wonāt graze in the pasture (so, yes- I feed them hay) because the bugs are SO BAD - they hang out in their run in shed under fans and timed fly sprayers⦠Before we got smart, I thought my horses were going to run themselves to death. So, for a while we had to bring them in before the bugs got bad during the day and turn them out at night. Then we built their fancy run-in. Riding outside at home requires ear bonnets so it is clearly not a fashion statement- even then Iām swatting deer flies that land and have bounce drier sheets tucked in the ears (to repel gnats).
My current OTTB is very sound sensitive. I found heās happier when I use the noise reducing bonnet when are in the indoor. I do have it on him at shows too because he can be funny if there is an overhead announcer or a lot of commotion near the ring. But some times he does not want it on (he will shake his head) so I leave it off.
I did use ear plugs when riding inside but he makes it hard to take them outā¦lol
Good color combo! Navy or indigo are my favorite colors on a dark bay.
Nice to see youāre coming around bonnets are hard to resist
I will not apologize for all the ādumbā stuff Iāve bought for my horses over the years. Sparkly browbands, hot pink wraps with alligators embroidered on them, wraps with aardvarks on them, patent leather, etc. Dressing them up is truly one of the best things about having a horseā to me. Also, everyday turnout matters. Wear crappy clothes, you end up feeling like crap.
I do roll my eyes when people say their gelding hates being dressed in pink. He can actually only see from yellow to blue, so he couldnāt care if he wanted to.
HA~!! (nice try)
