Easy Boot Trail

Tell me about your Easyboot Trail boots please. Pros? Cons? Fit? Thanks in advance.

No one using them?

I have been using the Easy Boot Back Country for a year and am very happy with it.
I was originally planning on the Trail, but the hooftrimmer who got me started thought the Back Country was a better fit and quality for my horse. I am using fronts only, and trimmer has said if ever we needed back boots, probably the Trail would work. My horse has a long history of overreaching and pulling front shoes off.
Switching to the boots has been nothing but positive. This is not exactly what you asked, but might be helpful.

I use the easy boot trails, the original version, it looks like they have recently come out with an updated version of them. I like them but I just do basic trail riding. They are very, very easy to put on and take off. They are fine for rocky ground, shallow water crossing and mud. I’m not sure how they’d do on a tougher terrain but they are marketed toward the casual trail rider going 25 miles or less per week and I find they are great for that. I’ve had mine 3 years now and am just about getting ready for a new pair.

I bought a set last week. I’m having trouble keeping them on my mare, and am considering sending them back. Perhaps I did not measure right or cannot get them tight enough, but I’m not happy with them, considering they were $75 each

Snort had a pair that he lived in with the medium pads and they were great, but they depended on his trimmer keeping his feet properly short and trimmed up. They were not suitable for 24/7 use in the muck and the next spring the trimmer never did get his feet right, but for the one year they stayed on well for pasture use. I did talc his heel bulbs to prevent chafing and like I said I had to keep on top of the trimmer. Eventually I fired the trimmer who let his feet get a teeny bit longer every cycle. It was not good.

Thanks so much for the information. No problems with canter and gallop? I’m kinda nervous about going at speed but I guess it will get easier as I get used to the boots.

My trail rides are mostly walking but I’ve trotted and cantered in them. I did lose a boot once at a fast canter going uphill. Turns out it just flew right off, I was lucky to find it still velcroed on the side of the trail. Now i check that i still have them after going that speed. If I were doing a lot of riding at a trot or canter I’d probably upgrade to a different model than the trails. I take them off
if I’m going to ride in the arena after the trail.

To the other poster that said their’s don’t fit right, even measuring exactly as the guide said to, it took me a couple of tries to find the right size.

Thank. I’ll have to get a rear view mirror I guess…

UPDATE:
Got the boots. Second ride we cantered and the boots stayed on! Yay! No rubs yet but I haven’t gone too far. He seems to like them.
