Easy Boots Back Country

Any opinions? Thinking of purchasing these for multiple uses - riding, medicating etc

I’m interested in these as well. I think they have a pretty close fit, so don’t know about using them for medicating if you have to wrap at all. I’m currently using a pair of Easyboot NewMacs, which I like, and Cavallo Simple boots, which I love. I was planning on trying some Back Country boots but I’ve been so happy with the Cavallos I haven’t felt the need. I would be interested to hear what you think if you try them.

I’ve had Back Country’s on my gelding’s fronts for nearly 4 years. I’ve never had any issues with them other than when they sat for almost a year due to me not riding after I got pregnant. They got some dry rot around the rivets. But this was easily fixed by my farrier who is also a rep. She replaced the pieces and my boots were good as new. I’ve done just about everything in those boots as my gelding can’t be ridden without them and he can’t tolerate shoes. We’ve trail ridden in all types of terrain, jumped in the arena and cross country, done dressage. Very good boots. But yes they do fit fairly close and when it’s close to the next trim appointment I sometimes can’t get the boots on because my gelding gets a lot of flaring in his hooves.

Cameraine, good to know. Thanks for the review.

I use them on my Icelandic and they work great. I’ve been using them for over three years but for riding only. I generally put about 50 miles a week on them. I haven’t had one come off yet and my mare, being an Icelandic, steps out pretty well when we’re out.

I bought them for my new Missouri Fox Trotter who seemed tender. She has a slight club foot and Renegades don’t recommend theirs for a high heeled horse, so research took me to the back countries. Went to easy boot site for help on sizing. Ordered them and they’ve been great so far on some steep rocky trails, mud and on the flat too. Fairly easy to get on…a little harder on the short toed club so I get it on and sort of bump it on the ground to push it on better. All pretty easy with this extremely cooperative Fox Trotter mare. Snug fit. Might be hard to fit anything else in one.

I bought these for my Morgan mare who is normally barefoot. So far we have been able to use them quite a bit on our local trails that are rocky and have some mud holes. They have stayed on so far with the keepers! They are a tight fit, so a week before her farrier they don’t work until she is trimmed, but for us it’s not a big deal. They are sturdy and well made, so I would recommend them over cavellos… IMO because of how the horse moves forward, I prefer the velcro closures in the back like the back country. The cavellos close in the front and would make me unsure because of natural horse movement that they would not open and come off!? Not sure. But I like the back countries so far! I have only had them for 4 months.
