EasyBoot Glove - How long do they last?

I am considering the EasyBoot Glove.

Anyone out there been using them for several years? How long do they last? And how many weeks do you go between trims?

Sounds like the boot fits so well that you have to rasp the hoof between trims to keep the fit.

Years??? No boot will last that long if you ride your horse more than once in each of those years. I get about 400-500 miles out of mine. I ride endurance (back to back to back 50’s)

I don’t use the easyboots, but I do use Renegades. I get about 600-800 miles out of a pair (one season), then they become backups. I have boots from 3 years ago that I can still use, probably 1200 miles on them! But Renegades are a bit different, with more replaceable parts. I’d say after my initial investment I replace the 2 different straps (replacement cost $8) about 4 times over the life of the boot, and sometimes a cable. But every horse is different, and some destroy some parts/boots more than others! And some might depend on your terrain too. I have lots of rocks, not much sand, I bet sand would eat boots faster.

I trim every 4 weeks. Often I touch up myself and can go longer. Friends who do more casual riding (trail riding a couple times a week, not endurance conditioning) have used their boots for a couple seasons (renegades, easy boot glove, backcountry, etc).

I know on any of the boots the initial price seems a bit high, but I think I save money in the long run versus shoes.

Agreed. We have several pairs of gloves a couple of years old but we only need them when we haul to the mountains or away from home to camp/ride. Under occasional use they can last quite a while but under constant use, as the one person said, perhaps a season. It really depends a lot on your ground also and how abrasive it is. They are a durable boot and we’ve had a lot of success with them. I find them simple to put on and if they fit right, they stay on very well.

We rode at Uwharrie National Forest at the end of June and they’d had 10 inches of rain in two days. The trails went from exposed rocks, slippery clay to deep sucking mud and on our two horses, we never lost one and never had a rub… Rode for hours each day.
