Evidently from a ruptured pulmonary artery. He had just begun his stud career this year. A NY bred who placed in numerous graded stakes - including 2nd in the BC Classic behind American Pharoah in 2015. (Had always followed him, and he put some money in my account from this race.)
His owner always seemed a bit of a goofball, especially with his choice of names - including also Effinex’s dam What A Pear. :rolleyes: She died after foaling complications with Effinex.
But I remember as he started his career - another one they tried w/out meds - and did pretty well. Even ran in The Wood with none.
He eventually was transferred to Jimmy Jerkens. And had quite a good career the last couple of years.
Am just so sad for his connections and his owners. Really upsetting.
