Sonoma Horse Park is just barely in Sonoma County, I wouldn’t be too worried about this based on geography alone.

This IS worth keeping an eye on and checking the CDFA site weekly. The EHM pony WAS at SHP–which could affect 100s of horses!! Not to mention, a quarantined barn is one thing, but if it spreads, a quarantined FACILITY will effect thousands of people!! Two big shows coming up there in 7 weeks or so, where trainers, grooms, vendors all have income and 600 horses entered.
Also, how many horses from this facility traveled to Elk Grove, San Juan Cap or Del Mar recently for shows.
Sadly this could have big implications, but hopefully not!!!

Where does it say the pony was at SHP? And what dates?

I have a friend close to the situation. SHP Summer Classic is end of July, followed by a large charity horse show, for Giant Steps Therapeutic Riding Center–which is housed at SHP.
Plenty of time for clearance as long as there are not continuing on property cases.
I think the CDFA notice makes it clear that the pony is in residence there. Sonoma Horse Park is the home for 7 or 8 trainers who all have individual barn setups and run their businesses there. That said, there is a lot of shared space, thus the 36 quarantined horses.

It doesn’t, actually. The CDFA site never lists barn or facility names, only counties. Which is incredibly frustrating unless you’re able to get second hand information from someone in the know.

Oh yes, this is INCREDIBLY important. I have a horse that was impacted by the EHV spread from Thermal in 2022. We were in an exposed barn and had to quarantine, horses had to get tested multiple times, etc. It was terrible. So I know how serious this can be. I do wish these notices were more clear with WHERE exactly the horses are.

So the pony was boarded there and the quarantined horses are still there? Or the pony has been there in the past? When in the past?
Vagueposting like this isn’t really helpful. Either give us actual information, like dates, or don’t post. Implying you have info but not saying what that info is just causes issues.
