Generally the neurological effects come on quickly when they appear. They generally appear after the fever. However, apparently the temperature spike can be sufficiently brief that taking the temp only once a day can miss the spike. How many people are taking the temperature twice a day at 6:00 am and 6:00 pm?
From what I’ve read, some horses don’t show the fever spike at all and I don’t think you can blame the people that are doing the temp monitoring. I very much doubt that the people who are taking temps twice daily are doing it willy-nilly. They do listen to veterinary advice.

I agree. Some horses probably don’t have fever at all. My point was that if the fever spike can be so short that the authorities are recommending taking temps twice a day, a brief temperature spike could easily be missed.
Ok that is fine.
Do your research. See if he is competing in his FEI classes.

The question was whether a horse from California tested positive and is competing in Florida.
How do I find out if a California horse tested positive from a show schedule?
FEI is requiring any horse that was on the grounds at Thermal during the outbreak be tested at day 7 and day 14 after leaving Thermal. So is USEF.

Ok that is fine.
What is fine? Spreading damaging rumors about top riders? No, it’s not fine.
Just wait and it will come out.
Both the large barns mentioned in South Orange County CA have a huge pigeon problem. I board at a smaller facility inside a county park that so far has had no cases. The park has a large raven and raptor population, so no pigeons.

Here he is competing and winning at DIHP in the same article they give EHV updates. Then he went to WEF? Yikes
It looks like he had one horse that was entered and then scratched at WEF this week.
Per horse show diva he was escorted off the main area to who knows where by FEI

d then scratched at WEF this week.
It’s also possible he has scratched because if he is going to Mexico for the Nations Cup, his horses will have to fly on the weekend.
Will be interesting to see how this unfolds. Rumor was he had flown out of LA to Florida but as this happened the restrictions were imposed and he was unable to show at WEF at this point and went up to Ocala. From what I have seen he hasn’t shown in Ocala and could easily have just down his days of quarantine up there.
Unfortunate a positive case has come from this so late, fingers crossed this doesn’t get further spread out on the east coast.

My horses just left WEC, I sincerely hope he did not go there to skirt USEF regs.
He won’t be going to Mexico unless its not FEI, FEI is being super strict about all this.
Webb is still under quarantine
Webb definitely isn’t released. You can see on the CFDA website. They continue to have new cases every few days including most recently on March 8. They are the first San Mateo quarantine.
Not to mention that the event organizers in Mexico would have to be crazy to let someone in who could spread the outbreak there.
Apparently another horse is down at Webb
I think both of his horses are positive.
