Electric riding mowers

I am tempted to get one. Anyone out there have one?
They are pricey but supposedly quiet and simple to maintain.

I’ve been looking at battery powered self propelled push mowers. The mowers aren’t too bad but the batteries are a killer. I saw an EGO that looked good. Then saw the battery and charger were extra at $1000.

The total cost being $1000?

I have an Ego self propelled push. It used to mow a lawn when I lived on 0.5 acres. Now it mows a steep ditch because it’s lightweight and easier than weed whacking. I could do the whole 0.5 acres on one 7.5AH battery, and they’re not cheap but not expensive. There are also knock-offs on Amazon for cheaper, and I’ve had good luck with those.

The real deal: EGO 56-Volt 7.5 Ah, Lithium Ion (li-ion) 420-Watt Battery BA4200T at Lowes.com

Knock off: Amazon.com: 56v 7.5 Ah Battery Replacement for EGO Battery (7.5AH-Green) : Tools & Home Improvement

I looked at an ad for EGo riding version.
$3900 but comes with 6 batteries.
Supposed to get 45min from a battery.
I admit to being tempted, but I’ve got 2+ac to mow & that’s just lawn. If I add pasture that’s another 2+ & rough on any mower.
Right now I pay for lawns to get mowed & pastures get bushhogged in the Fall.
I don’t have a lift & crawling around on the floor to replace belts was never fun.
Now my knees would not hold up to that.

Stay away from craftsman. They are junk. We have one and had to have a welder fix it as they are made really poorly with parts that break at a drop of a hat. Honestly, I think I’ll be lucky to get it through this summer in one piece. It would not surprise me if it breaks tomorrow. It’s literally a piece of junk. Be cheaper to pay the neighbors to mow.

Either buy a really expensive nice one or just pay someone to come mow for you. We had a push mower (and that also broke relatively quickly).
