Elevate maintenance vs concentrate powder

My horse gets elevate vitamin e powder but I’m curious if you all can help me find the best value for feeding it. I’ve been feeding the concentrate powder because he needs 5,000 ius a day. Does anyone know if there’s a difference in the two products other than the size of the scoop? Has anyone done the math to see which is cheaper? I’m not interested in another vitamin e supplement, I’m really happy with elevate, just want to see if I can save money on the maintenance vs concentrate.

Santa Cruz powder is the best bang for your buck.

It also comes in a pellet that’s nearly identical in price per IU.

Using prices from Allivet:

Elevate Concentrate - 2 lbs for $59.99. Scoop contains 5000 IU vitamin E. 80,000 IU/lb, so $0.375 /1000 IU
Elevate Maintenance - 2 lbs for $46.99. Scoop contains 1000 IU vitamin E. 65,000 IU/lb, so $0.361 /1000 IU

As Simkie said, Santa Cruz Natural Vitamin E is significantly less expensive ~$0.11/1000 IU. I found for a higher dose (4000 IU), my horse preferred the pellet over powder.

Interestingly, I couldn’t find Elevate Concentrate Powder on Kentucky Equine’s page - it looks like they may be discontinuing it and keeping just the Maintenance powder, the WS liquid and the Se added powder.

I just did the math on this before re-ordering a week ago and, like @MissAriel, found the maintenance powder to be less expensive than the concentrate.

I won’t give my business to any company with the kind of well-documented record of animal mistreatment that Santa Cruz has, so the Elevate Maintenance is still my go-to. Some things just aren’t worth the savings.
